Capric Acid 99%
CAS No. 334-48-5
Decanoic acid, or capric acid, is a saturated fatty acid. Its formula is CH3(CH2)8COOH. Salts and esters of decanoic acid are called decanoates.
Capric acid occurs naturally in coconut oil as well as palm kernel oil.
It is used in organic synthesis and industrially in the manufacture of perfumes, lubricants, greases, rubber, dyes, plastics, food additives and pharmaceuticals.
Caproic Acid 99%
CAS No. 142-62-1
Hexanoic acid (caproic acid), is the carboxylic acid derived from hexane with the general formula C6H11COOH. It is a colorless oily liquid with an odor that is fatty, cheesy and waxy. It is a fatty acid that is one of the chemicals that give the decomposing fleshy seed coat of the ginkgo its characteristic unpleasant odor. The primary use of hexanoic acid is in the manufacture of its esters for artificial flavors, and in the manufacture of hexyl derivatives such as hexylphenols.
The salts and esters of this acid are known as hexanoates or caproates.
This product is Kosher. Kosher foods are those that conform to the regulations of the Jewish Halakhic law framework, kosher meaning fit or allowed to be eaten. A list of some kosher foods are found in the book of Leviticus 11:1-47. There are also certain kosher rules found there.
Caprylic Acid 99%
CAS No. 124-07-2
Caprylic acid is the common name for the eight-carbon saturated fatty acid known by the systematic name octanoic acid. It is a minor constituent of coconut oil and palm kernel oil. It is an oily liquid that is minimally soluble in water with a slightly unpleasant rancid-like smell and taste.
Hexaride-051
HEXARIDE- 051 plastic additive is FDA sanctioned for PVC, LDPE, and other polyolefins.
Suggested Applications: Antifog agent for PVC sheet and film, cling agent in LDPE, lubricant for rigid and flexible PVC.
Lauric Acid 99%
CAS No. 143-07-7
Lauric acid (systematically: dodecanoic acid), the saturated fatty acid with a 12-carbon atom chain, is a white, powdery solid with a faint odor of bay oil or soap.
Myristic Acid 98%
CAS No. 544-63-8
Myristic acid, also called tetradecanoic acid, is a common saturated fatty acid with the molecular formula CH3(CH2)12COOH. A myristate is a salt or ester of myristic acid.
Myristic acid is named after the nutmeg Myristica fragrans. Nutmeg butter is 75% trimyristin, the triglyceride of myristic acid. Besides nutmeg, myristic acid is also found in palm kernel oil and coconut oil.
Myristic acid is also commonly added co-translationally to the penultimate, nitrogen-terminus, glycine in receptor-associated kinases to confer the membrane localisation of the enzyme. The myristic acid has a sufficiently high hydrophobicity to become incorporated into the fatty acyl core of the phospholipid bilayer of the plasma membrane of the eukaryotic cell. In this way, myristic acid acts as a lipid anchor in biomembranes.
The ester isopropyl myristate is used in cosmetic and topical medicinal preparations where good absorption through the skin is desired.
Reduction of myristic acid yields myristyl aldehyde and myristyl alcohol.
Palmitic Acid 98%
CAS No. 57-10-3
Palmitic acid, or hexadecanoic acid in IUPAC nomenclature, is one of the most common saturated fatty acids found in plants. Its molecular formula is CH3(CH2)14CO2H. As its name indicates, it is a major component of the oil from palm trees (palm oil, palm kernel oil, and coconut oil). Palmitate is a term for the salts and esters of palmitic acid. The palmitate anion is the observed form of palmitic acid at basic pH.
Safflower Oil High Oleic
Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is one of mankind's oldest crops. During the past 50 years, it has been cultivated chiefly for the natural vegetable oil extracted from its seeds.
The High Oleic Safflower Seed Oil marketed by Lee H. Smith & Company is highly refined.
Safflower oil is flavorless and colorless, and nutritionally similar to sunflower oil. It is principally used as a cooking oil, in salad dressings, and margarine production. This oil is a high monounsaturated fatty acid (oleic acid), which is lower in saturates than olive oil.
The High Oleic Safflower Seed Oil does not contain any animal derived product(s) and is certified Kosher by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.
Stearic Acid
CAS No. 57-11-4
Stearic acid (first syllable pronounced either steer or stair) is the saturated fatty acid with an 18 carbon chain and has the IUPAC name octadecanoic acid. It is a waxy solid, and its chemical formula is CH3(CH2)16CO2H. Its name comes from the Greek word στέαρ ( "stéatos", which means tallow. The salts and esters of stearic acid are called stearates. Stearic acid is noteworthy as the most common saturated fatty acid, another common one being the C16 compound palmitic acid.
